Hello and thank you for your interest in Bear Mountain School of Massage!

I have experienced some difficulty with our email and messaging systems and many students who inquired over the last year never received a response. These issues have been fixed and I apologize for the delays, and honestly, you haven’t missed much except the waiting. But not anymore!!!!

Divine timing is at play and all is well, REALLY!

I have had tremendous change in the set up of the school and it’s location. As some of you know, and many may not, Bear Mountain has been delayed for over 1 year waiting for permanent space to be completed and promises to be honored. That whole deal fell through, much to my disappointment. I am still moving forward and the end is near- or the beginning is near, depending on how you look at it.

So what is the deal now? The State of Colorado requires a school to have finished space to apply so I have been waiting for this building to be completed. When it became clear that plans and promises for my school had been changed, I decided to leave that space that I worked so hard to create for Bear Mountain students. I then changed the school to a partial distance learning program. I know it sounds funny a “distance learning massage program”, but it is actually quite fabulous! Only some theory is “self-study and distance”. This gives students tremendous flexibility throughout the whole program in those portions of the classes. The rest will be just like every other school, classrooms, equipment etc… only we won’t use time in class to give you the “first exposure” to lessons that are repeated throughout all of our time together in class. Full-time day enrollment will be 3 days a week 10-5 and a few weekends, part-time enrollment will be 2-3 nights a week 5-10 and few weekends. There is more information about his in the catalog so read it over before you make any decisions solely on the fact that we are a partial distance program and see why distance education may not be what you think. All this means now and for you is that I don’t need to have permanent space to apply for my state application to be a school and I don’t have to wait anymore and neither do you. YIPPEE!!

On July 1st, Bear Mountain finally submitted the application to be a school to the State of Colorado!! We are well on our way to start official enrollments as early as July 23 and starting classes in early August 2008! On July 22 the state board meets to approve my petition to be a school, so after that occurs I can officially enroll, accept money and register students for programs. We will start with the 4 massage programs and the other programs will start later. Students may apply now by filling out the application and sending it to the school offices address on the application, there is no obligation or fee for application. Also, this is not the location of the school, only my office, we are distance learning remember? Please call 970-407-8200 or email bearmountain@q.com if you have any questions.

In late July or early August, I will schedule a casual, get together to meet and greet any who are interested in the first round of programs. This “Opening House” will be a great place to learn about Bear Mountain Programs, massage and alternative healing, meet the faculty and Sheryl, get all your questions answered and even apply, enroll and start the process. We will have giveaways of tuition discounts, supply costs, professional equipment and more and you must be present to win! Some of which are redeemable upon enrollment some will be redeemable upon graduation. Please email or call if you want to be included in this gathering and bonuses and let me know if and when you will be out of town anytime through the end of August. If necessary we may do several small get-togethers in the Greeley, Ft. Collins area.

Keep checking the website for updates. Currently our email list will be the best notification route until the application is approved so make sure you email or call to be included because I only want to include those that wish to be included. We will have our full website up and running as soon as we get state approval and complete any changes in information they require.

I have attached a copy of our proposed catalog and an application to get you started. You will find the full information about all the programs, application process, fees and just generally everything about Bear Mountain. READ the catalog and be sure to compare our tuition rates and class offerings to any other programs you are currently looking at and see why Bear Mountain was worth the wait. The application and catalog will also available for download from the website very soon so you may apply online if you so choose. At this point, there are no paper versions and information is only available online or through email or phone conversations with Sheryl Daniel.

For those of you who have been patiently waiting and have been in touch with me you will notice the voice and enthusiasm in this letter and how different it is from past communications. This is because I will finally be able to open and do this wonderful school. It’s actually happening!!! After 2 years or 15 years or 25 years- it is finally happening!!! And we have wonderful programs to educate…to empower…. to heal!
